His vision was clear: to create a brand that Indian families could rely on for pure, high-quality edible oils. This commitment to purity became the driving force behind Tirupati Edible Oils, which today reaches over 10 million households.

Nilesh understood that the edible oil industry was not just about producing a product but about nourishing lives. His mantra of “quality before quantity” shaped every aspect of N.K. Proteins’ operations, from sourcing raw materials to delivering the final product. This philosophy resonated deeply with consumers, propelling Tirupati to become one of the most preferred edible oil brands in Western India.

Nilesh K. Patel recognized early on that the edible oil industry demanded relentless innovation, given its direct impact on human health. He championed a culture of “Innovation at Each Step,” fostering a robust Research & Development (R&D) team that pushed boundaries to deliver superior products. Under his guidance, N.K. Proteins developed a diverse portfolio of edible oils, including cottonseed, sunflower, corn, groundnut, soybean, mustard, rice bran, and cold-pressed oils, catering to varied consumer preferences.

The company’s state-of-the-art, fully automated manufacturing facilities became a hallmark of its commitment to innovation. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, these facilities ensured precision and hygiene at every stage of production. 

A Legacy of Social Impact

Beyond business, Nilesh K. Patel was deeply committed to social good. His belief in the transformative power of education, particularly for young girls, led to the creation of the Shri Nilesh K. Patel Girl Child Scholarship in 2021. This initiative supports girls from underprivileged backgrounds by covering tuition, educational expenses, and providing mentorship, empowering them to become leaders and change-makers. The scholarship has already enabled recipients to attend prestigious universities and make a positive impact in their communities, cementing Nilesh’s legacy as a champion of education and gender equality.

Nilesh’s commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) also saw N.K. Proteins partner with the Karma Foundation to address social and environmental causes. These efforts reflect his belief that businesses must contribute meaningfully to the communities they serve.

Its association with celebrity ambassador Kareena Kapoor Khan has further amplified its appeal, particularly among urban consumers. Today, N.K. Proteins produces 1,775 metric tons of refined oil daily, with a focus on sustainable sourcing and domestic oilseed production to reduce import dependency.

A Lasting Legacy

Though Nilesh K. Patel is no longer with us, his vision continues to guide N.K. Proteins under the leadership of Nimish Patel and Priyam Patel, the current Managing Director. Priyam, who joined the company at 21, has carried forward his father’s legacy of innovation and excellence, steering N.K. Proteins toward double-digit growth by 2025.
